The Gulf Of Eternity

Many gulfs are pretty large. The biggest one I know of on earth is the Gulf of Mexico. I may not be very geographically informed. The biggest gulf for all of eternity will be the gulf between Heaven and Hell. Abraham described it.

Luke 16:26b: . . . between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

There is a tiny little gulf that we can easily cross in this life that will determine which side of the great gulf we will be on for all of eternity. That tiny little gulf is the space between John 1:11 and John 1:12.

John 1:11-12: He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
